The History of Internation Women's Day

The roots of International Women's Day trace back to the fight for women's rights within the American textile industry, where they endured unjust and harsh working conditions.

On August 3, 1910, during the Second International Women's Conference, 100 female delegates from 17 nations proposed granting women the right to vote. Ms. Clara Zetkin suggested March 8 as International Women's Day, a day to honor the global struggle of women advocating for the slogan: "8-hour workday, equal job opportunities, and protection for mothers and children."
